Our Roofing Work Across the Shenandoah Valley
Every photo on this page is a real Baber Enterprises job. No stock images, no renderings. Since 1984, our family has been putting roofs on homes, churches and businesses across Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County, Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. We are three generations into this trade now, and the standard has not changed: do the job right and stand behind the work.
Most of these photos were taken from above, so you can see what a roofer sees: straight lines, clean valleys, neat flashing around chimneys and vents, and ridges that sit true from one end to the other. Browse by type of roof below, then call (540) 885-6514 to book a free roof inspection.
Metal Roofing
Standing seam metal is one of the longest-lasting roofs you can put on a Virginia home. The panels lock together with raised seams, so there are no exposed fasteners on the roof surface to loosen over time. These projects include white and green finishes on large country homes and historic houses in Staunton, plus a metal roof on a new build. A metal roof sheds snow well and keeps its looks for decades.
Shingle Roofing
Architectural shingles are a dependable, good-looking choice for most homes, and you will see plenty of them below, from Staunton and Fishersville to Harrisonburg. As a GAF Master Elite contractor, we hold a certification that fewer than 2% of roofing contractors in the country earn. It is GAF's recognition of contractors who meet its standards for licensing, insurance, training and customer satisfaction. Our roofs also carry a 25-year workmanship warranty.
Brava Composite Tile
Brava composite tile gives a home the look of real cedar shake or slate without the upkeep of natural wood. The tiles are cast from real shakes, so the texture and color variation look natural up close. These photos show Brava on a new home near Charlottesville, with a close-up of the finished tile, and on a craftsman style home with mountain views.
Commercial and Historic Roofing
Historic buildings take patience. This downtown Staunton church got a new standing seam metal roof on its sloped sections. The before and after photos show the difference. For commercial and church properties, we provide a written scope, schedule work around the people using the building, and document existing damage for your insurance carrier.
New Construction
We also roof new homes. On a new build we can combine materials, such as shingles on the main roof with metal over the porches. This home near Crozet sits in the foothills with mountain views on every side.
Work in Progress
A good roof is mostly what you never see once the job is done. These photos show the steps in between: tearing off the old roof down to the decking, putting down fresh decking where it is needed, and laying underlayment before the first shingle goes on. It is the part of the job that decides how long the finished roof lasts.
In the Community
Shelter for Service is our way of saying thank you. Every year we replace one roof, free of charge, for a veteran nominated by the neighbors who know them best. The photos here show the crew at work on a veteran's home in Staunton and the finished roof. We also put new metal roofs on the dugouts at the Churchville baseball field, because the Valley has been good to us for more than 40 years.
